SHRI SANJAY NIRUPAM was born in the remote village of Rohtas in Bihar, on the 6th of Feb, 1965. He spent his childhood in Rohtas and after completing his schooling moved to Patna in 1980 for Higher Education. He joined the AN College in Patna and the zen in him to solve problems was evident when he was elected a Council member and successfully looked into the problems of the student fraternity. He graduated in 1986 in B.A. with honours in Political Science.

The urge to play an active part in public life saw him move to Delhi in 1986 and he joined the weekly, "Panch Janya" as a Sub-editor. During his stint in Delhi, Sanjay Nirupam was constantly in the thick of things and for presenting a true picture of the political scene in Delhi, he was praised by senior leaders cutting across different parties. In 1988, he received an offer from "Jan-Satta" a sister publication of Indian Express - an offer he could not resist, and so it was on to Mumbai - the commercial capital of the country.

His fearless and factual reporting at Jan-Satta won him many admirers. In 1993, Shri Balasaheb Thackeray, the Shiv Sena Supremo impressed by his dedication and grasp of subjects asked Mr. Sanjay Nirupam to join "Dopahar-Ka-Samna", as it's Executive Editor. In September, 1996, because of his dynamic qualities, aggressiveness and youth, Mr. Sanjay Nirupam was handpicked by the Shiv Sena Pramukh Shri Balasaheb Thackeray to represent the party in the Rajya Sabha and propagate the party view point in the Parliament.

Mr. Sanjay Nirupam is on various parliamentary committees viz

· Consultative committee on Civil aviation
· Railway advisory committee

Mr. Sanjay Nirupam has also been on various study tours abroad.
· Been to Russia as a part of the Indian Parliamentary Delegation
· Study Tour of China
· Visited Belarus as a international observer for the recently concluded presidential elections

Inspite of being nominated from Maharashtra for Mr. Sanjay Nirupam the whole country is his constituency and his main objective is to see that the grievances of the common man are brought to the notice of the Government.
